We are looking for the next big thing in health technology to join the HBF Activate accelerator program. 

About the program

HBF Activate is a new startup accelerator launched by WA's largest health fund, HBF in collaboration with Spacecubed. We are focused on supporting the next wave of digital disruption in the health sector and are looking for WA's best and brightest to join the program. We will provide seed funding, workspace, mentors and a structured program to take your idea from concept to market. 

Prior to the application deadline we will host a series of events that will give you the opportunity to learn and network.

The HBF Activate program will run out of WA's premier technology hub, Spacecubed headquarted at               45 St Georges Terrace, Perth.


In the lead up stage of the program we will host a series of free masterclasses to provide you with the skills necessary to turn an idea into a marketable product.


On August 26-28 we will host an intensive hackathon for all participants to form teams, test ideas and build a prototype, with the support of mentors.


The top 3 winning solutions will each be awarded $30k funding and a place in our 10 week accelerator to take the product to market.

How can HBF harness new technology to help people be healthier and happier throughout their entire lives?

A ‘life stage’ health partner

Explore a particular ‘life stage’ eg teenager, young adult, new parent. How can new technology enable HBF to improve people’s health at these specific life stages?

Making healthy happen

Using technology, what can be achieved to help our members address health issues such as stress, obesity, depression and avoid  or manage serious chronic health conditions.


The Private Health Insurance experience

How can HBF use technology to enhance members’ experience – from point of purchase to claiming?


All ideas must be submitted by 11:59pm to be eligable.
